Lochalsh Part I

Here we are again - on the Coral Beach at Plockton

What was it you dropped Flo?

View north from our garden to The Five Sisters of Kintail.

View south, again from our garden over Loch Alsh

Orchids in abundance in nearby fields.
We have seen swathes of orchids, yellow flags and cotton grass on nearly every walk.

Balmacara Estate - Loch Achaidh -na-h-Inich (say that after a few voddies)

Balmacara Woodlands

 And finally........
The girls found a quiet spot to sunbathe!

Gairlochy Part II

Destination in the distance. The start of a fabulous walk to Coire Ardair, and a small loch at the bottom of Craig Meagaidh.

Halfway there and they seem so small against the mountain!

Goal achieved! A sit down and lunch before the return 4 mile journey.

A trip on The Jacobite Railway from Fort William to Mallaig gives an
outstanding view round every corner.
(Note the viaduct that featured in 'Harry Potter')

A view from the carriage window on the return journey. The light was stunning.
The smoke and soot smelled good too!

Another day and wild and desolate walk behind Loch Arkaig - an area used for commando training during WW2

What's this I see?

The Landlady of Teapot Cottage had to make special arrangements after Florence's visit!

And finally....

Should anybody wish to contact us at cottage 4 (at Nostie near Kyle of Lochalsh) between 15-28th June the landline number is 01599 555457 - the mobile signal at the cottage is poor but we have Wi-Fi so email is also possible.

Views from the cottage are spectacular - all will be revealed in the fullness of time!
