The Clints of Dromore and goodbye Gatehouse

Recognise the viaduct in the distance? I'm sure it's more than 39 steps!
Reached base camp successfully

Summit achieved and no oxygen masks needed.
Still waiting for Flo!

Farewell Gatehouse and the view from our balcony

Glen Trool

A mild, murky and exceedingly damp tramp. Supposedly one of the finest short walks in Scotland - as long as you can see through the mist and rain!

Weather improving!

Galloway Red Kite Trail

Saw several red kites whilst walking in the Ken Dee Marshes and then the icing on the cake was a visit to the feeding station to witness the birds being fed with road kill. Little did we know that we would see @50 of them swooping and diving, their wings sounding like sails slapping in the wind.

No wi-fi at property and we are suffering from a severe case of dongle dangle!!!

News At Last

We asked for sun?        Who sent the ....... snow?

Actually we climbed 2,300ft, in the style of mountain goats, to the summit of Cairnsmore of Fleet. Fab views, great sense of achievement but we woz knackered!

At the summit - Carol is getting fed up of carrying the lead balloon around!
